Sacred Art will highlight works that serve a religious purpose, be it personal or on a communal level. You will see examples of temples, shrines, idols, stone disks, and various types of offerings made by the Wixaritari. These four nierika, above, were left as offerings at Teacata, the ceremonial center of the ancestors deep in the canyons of the sierras. As can be seen in this example, the nierika was the inspiration for modern day yarn paintings.

This section on Sacred Art is still under construction so we suggest you check from time to time to see new postings.
