Wixarika Communities Seek First Indigenous Municipality of Jalisco

The Wixarika communities of San Sebastián Teponahuaxtlán and Tuxpan de Bolaños, in the municipalities of Mezquitic and Bolaños, accorded to begin the formal process of requesting to their local Congress the creation of a new municipality that would have the name of Tatei Yurienaka (Our Fertile Mother), and have Tuxpan de Bolaños as its municipal capital.
