Plagues and Timber Companies Imposed Themselves on the Huichol

From the Ocho Columnas newspaper, April 21, 1993. This piece deals with the conjuncture between a mistletoe plague and timber exploitation in the Wixarika Sierra. It deals in particular with how the company in charge of sanitizing the plague also felled the trees as a forme of indemnization for their work; exacerbating the exploitation experienced by Wixarika communities.
