The Huichol: Preserving a Way of Life

"This fund-raising exhibit for the Huichol, Wixaritari, is nade necessary by their rapidly changing surroundings. For, while it is easy to appreciate from the United States of America, that change may be the most characteristic seal of the end of the 20th century, it is especially difficult to escape its jagged impact on México. There, suddenly reneging on an inveterate tradition of separateness from its English speaking First World Northern neightbors, México seeks to emerge as economic parthners of the American champions of change."
