The forestry policy applied in the Huichol area is a disaster ~ July 18, 1994

It is Antieconomical and Antiecological.

The forestry policy applied in the Huichol Sierra is an economic and ecological disaster, because it does not help raise the living standards of the natives, while it does foster the irreversible destruction of the forest, assured the president of the Association for Ecological Development of the Western Sierra Madre (A.D.E.S.M.O.), Juan Negrín Fetter, an authority on the art of the Huichol as well as on their resources.
