Strengthening Higher Education for the Wixárika People

"Strengthening Higher Education for the Wixárika People" is the second fundraising event in 2023 for our scholarship fund that provides financial support and a social-academic network for Wixárika undergraduates. This talk was given by Juan Aurelio Carrillo Ríos who directs Indigenous Affairs at the Autonomous University of Nayarit. We also hear from scholarship recipients Mario de la Cruz (Math/UAN) and Gabino Valdez (Nursing/Universidad Tecnológica de la Sierra). The Wixárika Research Center is a non-profit with decades of work supporting a living archive of history and culture and educational and ecological initiatives.
