Yellow and White Shoulder Bag.
This shoulder bag (kuchuri) was woven on a back strap loom using hand-spun wool and is a rare example of the natural yellow dye used by the Wixáritari. Three hummingbirds form the main motif; other designs represent corn and peyote. This kuchuri was dyed, spun and woven by María Sandoval, an expert weaver who had an expansive knowledge of the traditional weaving designs and the plants for making natural dyes used by the Wixáritari.
