Tepari Book Presentation with '+r+temai Gabriel Pacheco
Special presentation of '+r+temai Gabriel Pacheco’s novel, Tepari, as part of our annual fundraiser for the Wixarika Research Center's Scholarship Fund and in celebration of Indigenous Languages. The tepari is one of the most significant ritual objects in Wixarika symbolic culture. It is a disc-like stone that is used to cover a hole or a well where offerings are depositied to ancestral deities in the underworld. Pacheco’s novel is a tepari that opens our vision to a world of profound realities that are hidden behind the world of appearances; a nierika or mirror that presents us with images from another world.
