Zulema Yuawima de la Cruz

Zulema is the first Wixarika to study architecture, having been inspired by the loss of vernacular forms in the region of El Nayar where she is from. Upon finishing her bachelors degree, she moved to Tijuana where she spent three years working in LEED certification for buildings. In the fall of 2025, Zulema began her masters degree in Sustainable Design at the ITESO Jesuit University of Guadalajara.
