Ceremony of Tatei Neixa - Photograph ©Juan Negrín 1981 - 2018
Traditional art will highlight items made by the Wixárika people for their internal use within their communities and homes. Examples to be shown include embroidery, weaving, basketry, chairs, drums, musical instruments, bows and arrows, water gourds, and pottery. None of the examples shown in this section were made for commercial purposes but are used in everyday and ceremonial settings.
We have posted many examples of embroidery and weaving. The other pages under the heading of Traditional Art are coming soon.
